Use a grid to divide a photograph into panels for a layout or multi-part visual story. Choose rows and columns with the final arrangement in mind, especially when a face or focal point falls on a tile boundary. Splitting produces pieces of the source rather than a newly generated interpretation.
Each tile contains only part of the original image, so a large grid leaves fewer pixels in each piece. Preview the grid before downloading and check how the destination displays individual tiles. If you need a larger source, complete any enhancement first and split the resulting image afterward.
