Photo-to-anime conversion is useful for a profile picture, a creative keepsake or a different interpretation of an event photo. Start with the same source when comparing styles: this makes differences in color, shading and line work easier to judge. A stylized result is an illustration, not an exact record of the people or scene.
Faces should be large enough to see clearly, without heavy shadows or objects covering them. For group photos, check every person in the result rather than only the person in front. If distant faces are important, crop the source around the smaller group before uploading.
